Childcare Educators, Corona and why I love my job

Okay, so this blog is a little different from my usual soapbox style.  For those of you who know me well, or have witnessed one of my well meaning rants, you’ll know how passionate I am about quality documentation, and supporting educators in creating documentation that matches the exceptional quality of the programs being delivered in their services. And that is usually the focus of my blogs; how EarlyWorks supports creation of quality documentation.

Well, this blog is a little different.  It is about you.  It is about the amazing, dedicated, professional users of EarlyWorks, who I have the pleasure of working with every day.  We may never have met face to face, but that hasn’t stopped us from having robust phone and email, discussions about assessment and planning, critical reflection, the planning cycle, leadership, and continuous improvement. These conversations are a real highlight for me, and drive all of us at EarlyWorks to continually improve what we do so that we can support you in being the best you can be.

During the last few months of Corona craziness, where so many services have been under all sorts of pressure, we have been even more inspired by you.

  • The way you have embraced new functions like the Home Activities to better support your children and families through this uncertain time.
  • The way you have continued to fearlessly explore EarlyWorks to achieve best practice in sustainability, professional collaboration, and communication with families.
  • The way you have embraced the new Diagnostic feature of EarlyWorks and used that to take an honest look at where there might be room for improvement.
  • The way services who are new to the EarlyWorks community have fearlessly engaged with digital documentation for the first time.

This has all happened at a time when the whole early childhood community has been under a cloud of uncertainty. But, you have risen to the challenge, and as a result provided stability and certainty for the children and families in your care.

Thank you! Because of you, I LOVE my job!
